A bit about The Chrysler building, New York
A few years ago, I visited New York on a painting trip and painted this on street preparation painting of The Chrysler building.
This iconic Art Deco structure is located on the east side of Manhattan at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, it was briefly the world’s tallest building in 1930 standing at a height of 1,047 feet. It was only the tallest for a year as the Empire State Building over took it in 1931.
The Chrysler building is by far my favourite NYC structure, an elegant midtown Art Deco angel proving that biggest is by no means the best.
