The Gallery Holt is a contemporary art space that has been exhibiting original artwork by some of the UK’s leading artists since 1972.
They have recently invited me to be part of their Spring and Summer exhibition entitled, One Earth.
The One Earth Exhibition
31st May – 8th July 2025
The fragility of our planet is being highlighted by governments around the world. This exhibition will underline how this group of carefully selected artists see the world through their eyes and what it means to them as individuals.
I have chosen to exhibit my painting of the Regent’s Canal as it passes through Maida Vale in London. In this piece, I aimed to capture two very distinctive communities: the canal community, who navigate a ribbon of rural England through the heart of the metropolis, and the bricks-and-mortar community that lines the banks.
As I worked, I found myself wondering how much these two groups interact. Do they chat? Do they mingle? Do they all gather on the street on New Year’s Eve to sing Auld Lang Syne together? I’d like to think so—though I rather doubt it.
Perhaps if we did come together more often, even just to sing in the street now and then, the world might be a better place.
So, if you are in Norfolk from 31st May – 8th July do pop along to Gallery Holt to see a fine selections of rather wonderful paintings.
