A bit about the Regents Canal
Regent’s Canal is a charming waterway running from East London and moves across town to just north of central London, England. Stretching 8.6 miles (13.8 km), it connects the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal—about 550 yards (500 meters) northwest of Paddington Basin in the west—to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames in East London. It’s a lovely slice of history and a peaceful retreat from the bustling city!
When I visit London, I often take a walk along the canal from where it begins at Limehouse and, of course, my paints are never far away.

I always enjoy looking at your paintings
Hello. I was surprised, but pleased to see the process, that you do such detailed drawings before the painting. Very draftsmanship-like.
All the best, Tobias
This is a lovely painting. I had an aunt who lived near the Regents canal and I remember crossing the bridge with my mum when we walked up from Bethnal Green. More recently after a visit to the Museum of the Home with a friend we wandered onto the canal path and had a great time enjoying the wonder of the ordinaryness of it. We emerged back onto the road at Broadway Market and I found the former pie and eel shop which has kept the shop front despite now being an optician’s. It made my day.
