I was recently asked to illustrate a cover for ‘The Celebration of Dubai Airports 2013’ brochure cover. I used to do technical illustration in the pre computer days and this piece is a bit of a throwback to that.
It was very enjoyable to do despite the request for ‘next day delivery’. I stayed up late with loads of coffee and trucker radio for company and all got sent over on time and to budget.
Looking at it now it has a hint of the Pop Art about it. Great testimonial too.
“Liam is new working with MEED. We are extremely pleased to be working with him and have found his work to a high standard. It’s not easy turning around quality artwork to our deadlines, but Liam does.
Sometimes, as our stories develop, we need our artists to make changes to their artwork and Liam is happy to do this.
We love the cover Liam put together on our Dubai Airports supplement, which illustrates his attention to detail.”

Hi Liam, funny you should have done the Dubai airport recently. I am in Dubai right now visiting my daughter , her husband works for the airport so we all thought it was a weird coincidence! No people in that one I noticed, would have loved to have seen a dish dash or two!

Hi Helen,
odd it is! Mike mailed me and said he worked there. Hopefully he recognised it ok. As I said I enjoyed painting it and there are two people. Wee things by the luggage train on the right. Just hanging about.
Anyway, I hope your holiday is going well. Sunny here..but cold!
Regards
Liam
