Last night I dared to venture out of my London manor to The Inaugural Exhibition of ‘The Plein Air Brotherhood’ at The A & K Wilson Gallery in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.

‘The Plein Air Brotherhood’ are A new group of talented artists and like minded souls who enjoy the considerable challenges of painting in the great outdoors. The A & K Wilson Gallery is a tiny gallery right next door to Harpenden station. For all its diminutive size however it has TARDIS like qualities and on the inside it was packed with inspiring pieces of work by all the members of the Brotherhood:

  • Adebanji Alade,
  • Antony Bridge,
  • Roy Connelly,
  • John Dobbs,
  • David Pilgrim and
  • Karl Terry.

Do pop along if you can. Oh, If you think Hertfordshire is too far to go to see a modest art exhibition then I say it certainly wasn’t too far for Ken Howard, OBE, RA who stopped by and stayed all evening chatting with the artists and buying a few pieces too.  This I feel is a genuine sign that the eccentrically named ‘Plein Air Brotherhood’ is being taken seriously already.
