The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) is an art institution based in London. Founded in 1768. It is situated in Burlington House on Piccadilly. The RA is privately funded institution led by eminent artists and architects. The instrument of foundation, signed by George III on 10 December 1768.
Each year they hold The Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition where the Royal Academicians hold an exhibition of their own work and they invite members of the public to enter too. The first president was Sir Joshua Reynolds, whose statue site out front.
