Methodism at Pilton dates back to 1794 with the present building opening in 1849; with the 150th Anniversary celebrated on the 23rd May 1999. It has since been furnished with a fine coffee shop which provides splendid views for miles all around.

As Pilton is still a thriving community, and both churches are well maintained.

I often paint in The Cotswolds, where there are equally beautiful churches. Many of the local houses however, are now second homes so there is no one to ring the bells. And no one to fill the church notice board announcing jumble sales and fetes. Very sad.
