A bit about Greenwich
This painting is from The Greenwich park gates looking down the Thames to The Cutty Sark.
Greenwich is notable for its Naval history and is the location of The Royal Observatory – from where Greenwich Mean Time is calculated, the Greenwich Meridian (0° longitude), and the old Royal Naval Hospital for Sailors designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
Until 1998, it was became The Royal Naval College and today, it is owned by Greenwich Foundation who run the National Maritime Museum. Greenwich also has an active market where i get to buy some meaty pies to chomp on whilst working.
