About this drawing in Port Isaac
In May I visited Port Isaac in Cornwall to do a spot of drawing and painting. While working I noticed the tourists tend to lope down the harbour, walk out onto the sands, then prod about in the rock pools to observe the minutia of nature in action. This of course accompanied by much snapping of camera phones.
It is however often a short lived preoccupation, especially considering the vast distances, and parking fees many have had to endure to arrive at this remote corner of England.
No, Once all the photos are took most retreat back to the platt, sit themselves down, then gaze back towards the teetering boats, and to the sea beyond the walls. All of them together, thinking different things.
I drew this family doing just that.
These pencil studies are 20cm x 15cm, signed and mounted on acid-free card.
The newsletter will be sent out on the 28th July 2016. I look forward to your sign up in the box on this page.
